I started out moderate on trans issues in 2019. I was open to social transitioning of children. I was fine with using preferred pronouns the majority of the time. I was fine with adults transitioning using whatever private insurance would cover it and private funds. I wanted single stall or gender neutral bathrooms added to public buildings, so those who are trans had a safe option without compromising women. I wanted an open category in sports so anyone could compete without compromising women's sports. I have never been for affirmation therapy because affirmation isn't therapy. I wanted therapy to continue to be exploratory therapy, as it has always been regardless of identity.
Guess what, I still got called a bigot, transphobe, homophibe, fascist, racist, etc., etc., etc.
Since then, I was slowly pushed away until I became gender critical. What peaked me?
- Men who claim to be women refusing to listen to the concerns of women they wanted to be welcomed by
- watching ROGD grow exponentially in my field and being gaslit that it wasn't happening
- watching detransitioners be attacked for simply telling their story or wanting the option to sue for the wrong they felt was done to them
- women being raped in prisons whole being gaslit that it isn't happening
- women/girls losing scholarships and awards to biological males in women's only sports
- receiving threat after threat because I have concerns about the sterilization of children and women's safety
- witnessing children being removed from their parents by the state because their parents wanted to be cautious about permanent medical intervention
- girls getting assaulted in school bathrooms and being gaslit that it wasn't happening
- witnessing the media lie over and over again about the risks of suicide related to gender dysphoria as well as the appropriate treatment for suicidal ideation (it isn't hormones or surgery)
- watching as those with the loudest voices in the trans movement advocated for the age of consent to be lowered and lowered, regardless of the risks this put children at.
- watching lobbyiest for the trans movement demand compelled speech
- witnessing the transmovement shift from gender transition to "transwomen are women"
- individuals who were not my patients attempted to get my license revoked because they have deemed psychotherapy "conversion therapy"
Since being peaked, I have done a deep dive into the history of and funding of the trans movement. It was eye-opening. I will not support a transhumanist ideology, especially one that aims it's sights primarily at children in tax-payer funded schools for indoctrination
That being said, I am still mostly of the opinion that adults can do whatever they want to their body as long as the medical community is willing to do it. I am also open to the idea that cosmetic surgery, without any medical indication, should be banned.
I am no longer in favor of any transitioning of any child. I am also opposed to forced detransitioning. I am opposed to any intervention being forced. I am no longer interested in preferred pronouns. Call yourself whatever you want. I will refer to you however I please.
I want anything related to sexuality, any sexuality, out of schools other than biology based sex education.
I wanted women's spaces and sports to remain strictly female. I still want single stall bathrooms and/or gender neutral bathrooms added to public places, without removing women's only bathrooms. I am still open to an open category in sports, as long as the women's category remains strictly female.
I have no illusions or hopes that the trans movement would consider any of this a compromise. The irradication of biological sex as the basis for reality is the goal of the trans movement, along with the irradication of womanhood and rhe sexualization of children.
If you want to place blame somewhere for the shift away from your definition of "moderate", place it squarely on the shoulders of the trans movement.
Amazing summation of how many are feeling, myself included as a detransitioner. You, my dear friend, have my support, love and admiration for speaking out against this horrible ideology.
